Monday to Friday album cover Sweet JeanOur new album Monday to Friday will be released on Friday 13 May through ABC Music / Universal. Wish us luck!

We worked with good friends on this album, with John Castle producing and playing, Datsun Tran painting the artwork, and Sime’s bro Moz from Hook & Loop designing the album layout. We’d like to thank The Academy and the Australian Atheist Society. We hope you enjoy Monday to Friday.

You can preorder the album on CD I VINYL I DOWNLOAD HERE.

Album PhotoWe’re really excited to have finished our new album Monday to Friday. Here’s a photo of John & Sime putting together the arrangement of the last song we recorded. We’ll keep you posted with release details soon!

Meanwhile, we’ve been working on a few other projects. Alice has been working one some sound design for a theatre show, chipping away at her radio show,  and recently recorded a couple of songs with Paul Kelly for his new mini album of Shakespeare settings called Six Sonnets and a Song. She also took up fly fishing.

Sime spent a week in Billinudgel recording a new album with The Wilson Pickers. The working title is You Can’t Catch Fish from a Train. He’s also been designing and building beautiful things, including the set for a theatre show called Funeral. It’s been to Mona Foma, Brisbane Festival…..with more dates on the way. Sime’s portrait paintings aren’t getting any better but he’s got a great attitude.

SJ-BW-hires-edit-2We’ll be stepping out of the studio this summer for a run of shows before putting the finishing touches on our new album Monday to Friday. We recorded the demos in our converted-laundry, then worked on the songs at The Shed Studios with our good friend and producer John Castle. We’ve set aside strings and banjo this time around for electric guitars & vintage synths.Panama Poster

We’ll be hitting the road in November for a run of shows with our five-piece band and as a duo, playing songs from our new album, as well as some older tracks.

Sweet Jean DarwinWe had a great time playing at the Lighthouse for
Darwin Festival with Indonesian Duo Endah n Rhesa.

We took a sneaky side trip to Kakadu, and got recognised as Melbournians at the pub ’cause we were the only people wearing black from head to toe. We woke up uncharacteristically early to see the wetlands come to life, and snuck into a Uranium mine…..

AU 2 - TorontoWe recently got on a plane to play some shows at Canadian Music Week. We met a bunch of great people, saw some great music, and caught a lot of trains.

Thanks as always to the good people from Sounds Australia for all that they do.

Please enjoy our selection of photographs featuring trains, planes, and automobiles from our travels.

All photos by Sime, except the one that he’s in.
